Moses vs Antonio
|
Moses looked to have it sewn up early season and Antonio took a while to find his feet but I reckon Antonio has earned the spot with improving performances and goals. Plus Moses has been lazy as fuck since he got back from injury.
Thoughts?

One of my mates is a Forest season ticket holder. He was livid when Forest allowed Antonio to leave and he still has the hump about it even now. He reckons we have a gem on our hands who is destined for great things.

Antonio and Moses are the same age. If Antonio is young, so is Moses.
Moses is a much more gifted player which is why he's been at the club's he has. Antonio has worked his way up from the very bottom with a great attitude and work ethic.
If Moses had Antonio's approach to the game it wouldn't even be close. But he doesn't. And someone that believes in their talent (VM) is always going to be bypassed by someone continually looking to improve theirs (MA)

Got to the ground early yesterday and watched the players warm up. Antonio appeared focussed whereas Moses was fucking around flicking the ball everywhere and not looking too bothered. He was also kicking it, from close range, pretty hard at Jelavic and laughing about it. Didn't seem funny to me.
Maybe I'm being too fussy about what I'd like to see but, to my eyes at least, he looked like he couldn't give a shit. Seems to have a typical quitter attitude when things get tough.
Antonio is a far better and more consistent professional. I'd much rather have him in the team even if in bad form.

There's probably a bit too much criticism of Moses on here. When he's good he's very good but I would admit he needs to do it more often. Let's hope he is fully aware that he needs to fight for his place in the side. As things stand I can only see him getting time as a sub for Antonio or Lanzini when he's back.

Antonio was, for me, man of the match last night, he doesn't stop running, provides and delivers and is strong on the ball.
Also showed a touch of finesse with that header.
Moses and his attitude could go tomorrow and be no loss.

Antonio third round knock out but might get disqualified due to his style .

Nothing much to add to what has already been said, except that I think Antonio could make a more than handy central striker - good in the air, frightening pace and a real eye for goal. That header last night was stunningly good - pinpoint accuracy.

Technically Antonio is not in the same league as Moses
However, what he lacks in technical ability is more than made up by his hard work, physical strength, effort, attitude & will to win
He's always a real handful for defenders
You always need players like that in the side & for that reason, I would always favour him over Moses, whose work rate leaves a lot to be desired
Antonio is young & this only in his first season at this level. He will only get better
Moses has been to a few clubs & yet not quite made it at any

Trying to work out how Moses is going to replace Antonio. He's going to get 20 minute sub opportunities to persuade Slav he's a better option.
Can't see it.

During Moses first games I thought it would be hard for Antonio to get a chance. Now it's the other way around.
Anyone coming on for Antonio will struggle to keep up with his workrate

Antonio all day long for me and Moses probably earns a fortune, I'd send him back and get in a young keen deputy for Antonio

If Moses had Antonio's attitude and work rate he'd be a great footballer. He just doesn't seem to fancy it at times.

Putting aside the fact you are forgetting Jamie Vardy, is there any limit to the amount of old cunt you speak?

Antonio has the shirt
Moses needs to try and win it back off him. If he does great look to get him on a permanent if he doesnt send him back to Chelsea and look to get another winger in the summer
Lanzini to come in on the left and put Payet in the middle when he returns

Antonio, like his directness, work rate and eye for goal. Also he is ours and doesn't belong to Chelsea. I think if he had been in the team from the start of the season he may have had a chance of making the England squad for the Euros.

Re: Moses vs Antonio

Antonio scored one of Southampton's goals in the 2010 Football League Trophy final and Pardew tried to make his loan from Reading a permanent deal. Reading refused and sold him to Sheffield Wed instead, possibly because there was still bad feeling at the way Pards walked out on them to join us. So Antonio already has that Wembley final goal on his CV. Could he repeat the feat this year?

ould l togive him a chance upfront when lanzini is back as I think he would do a better job than Valencia and is better in the air. but we will probably have carroll and/or sakho back when that happens
